Kanad MajumderKanad grew up in Kolkata, also known fondly as the City of Joy on the east coast of India, a train ride from both the Bay of Bengal and the Himalayas! After completing his undergraduate degree from University of Calcutta he moved to the south of the country for his master’s at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. It is here that he developed his interest in photochemistry and spectroscopy while working on CdTe quantum dots with Prof Edamana Prasad. Following this, he proceeded to conduct his doctoral research with Prof Satish Patil in the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore where he worked on understanding correlated triplet pair dynamics in acene dimers for intramolecular singlet fission. Driven by his interest to continue exploring exciton dynamics in organic systems, Kanad joined Campos lab in 2024 as a joint postdoctoral fellow with Prof Matthew Sfeir in ASRC, working on singlet fission related projects. Outside of lab, Kanad enjoys watching cricket, soccer, tennis, f1 and almost all sports known to mankind (huge Argentina, Manchester United and Rafa Nadal fan)! He also enjoys travelling and exploring different cuisines.
