Lauren HannmannLauren Hannmann is a chemistry researcher and science communicator working at the intersection of sustainable materials, green chemistry, and public engagement. She earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she conducted research on advanced oxidation processes for the removal of pharmaceutical contaminants from water systems.After several years in London working in fashion and completing a Master’s in Fashion Design and Luxury Management at Grenoble École de Management, she founded Catwalk Chemist—a platform that blends chemistry, design, and storytelling to expand access to science through culturally resonant public education.Lauren is currently contributing to research and undergraduate chemistry education at Columbia University, with a focus on sustainable materials and the expressive potential of chemical systems. Her interdisciplinary practice bridges synthesis and science communication, aiming to translate complex chemical ideas into tangible, creative frameworks for broader engagement and impact.
