Leo WestreyLeo hails from the rainy hipster paradise of Portland, Oregon before swapping coasts to do their undergraduate at Haverford College. Exploring various subfields as an undergrad, they worked on medicinal chemistry and chemical education with Prof. Theresa Gaines at Haverford, heterogeneous catalysis with Prof. Montserrat Gomez at Université Toulouse III, and finally found their love for polymers chemistry working with Prof. Kevin Noonan at Carnegie Mellon. In the Campos group Leo draws on their synthetic background to develop novel polymeric systems with unique mechanical properties in collaboration with other members of the MONET CCI as a MONET trainee. Outside of the lab, Leo loves rock climbing, backpacking, cooking, photography, and occasionally participates in Scrabble tournaments.
