Md Raja SkRaja is from West Bengal, India. He joined the Campos lab in 2025 and is working on singlet fission-related projects to dive deep into mechanistic photochemistry and chromophore design. After completing B.Sc. from the University of Kalyani, he completed M.Sc. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur with a master’s thesis on synthesizing halogenated anthraquinone by anionic annulation in Prof. Dipakranjan Mal’s lab. In 2022, Raja earned his PhD at IIT Kharagpur, where he worked on weakly coordinating ketone-directed C–H functionalization and annulative π-extension (APEX) reaction in Prof. Modhu Sudan Maji’s lab. Then, he moved to Texas A&M University, USA, as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Andy Thomas’s group, focusing on site- and stereoselective functionalization of heterocycles and mechanistic organometallic chemistry. He enjoys playing cricket in his free time.
