Valentina MalaveValentina was born in Venezuela, where she spent most of her childhood. Later, she moved to Spain, where she did her undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela. She completed her final research project with Prof. Diego Peña, focusing on the synthesis of nanographenes. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the same group and is spending a few months at Columbia University for a research stay. She was motivated to join the Campos group to learn new things, not only in chemistry but also by experiencing a new culture. At Columbia, she is working on single-molecule transport in molecular junctions with a weak C–C bond that leads to stable radicals. Outside the lab, Valentina enjoys going out for drinks, spending time with friends, watching movies, and going to the gym.
