Rachel L. Starr

Rachel is from a distant land across the Hudson River known as New Jersey. After admiring New York City from afar her whole life, she journeyed to Barnard College for her undergraduate studies. She majored in chemistry, and was very fortunate to conduct research with Prof. Christian Rojas, learning about small molecule synthesis while listening to Harry Potter audiobooks. Unwilling to abandon NYC, she walked all the way across Broadway to Columbia for her Chemistry Ph.D. It seemed logical, since she already had the appropriate school apparel and knowledge of the best bagels in the area. Rachel is excited to take her organic chemistry experience and apply it to polymers with biological applications.
