Single-Molecule ElectronicsSingle-molecule charge transport studies can reveal important information about the electronic structure of organic materials. Through structure-property relationships, molecular design features can guide the synthesis of macromolecular materials. Moreover, the ability to tailor chemical functionality can also be exploited to create molecules that mimic the function of microelectronic devices, such as diodes and switches. Together with the Venkataraman group, we design and synthesize materials that exhibit remarkable transport phenomena.
